Application of the Month: Safety Through Control: EEG7000 and a ComAp Control Panel
The connections behind a central control panel ensure worker safety and just make life easier. That’s why our partners at ComAp Control LTD use the EEG7000 to support this ComAp ID-Lite Control Panel to keep this crane running safely and with the stability required by transportation and logistics company standards.
The control panel operates a hydraulic power pack that powers the transport crane and interfaces with a radio control system. The supporting EEG7000 governs the engine speed based on hydraulic power demands.
After engine startup, the crane’s hydraulic system prevents the crane from operating until the hydraulic fluid reaches a specified temperature. Once that temperature is reached, a lock-out timer releases the governor, which runs the engine at 1200 RPM to circulate the hydraulic fluid.
Once complete, the controller slows the engine to 650rpm and the radio control system allows the operator to select one of several functions from a handheld device, including:
- Engaging hydraulic legs for stability. This command increases engine speed until the legs are in place, then drops RPM back to idle.
- Operating the crane. This command increases engine speed to 2100 rpm while the control button is depressed, allowing the operator to move the crane. When the operator releases the control button, the engine initiates a 10-second delay, then returns to idle (650 rpm).
Products Of The Month:
GAC Governor Controller in Common Supporting Roles The ESD5500E Analog Controller and the EEG7000 Digital Enhanced Electronic Controller are our customers’ and partners’ most-used behind-the-scenes controllers. They offer solutions for every application and every engine, and are customizable to OEM needs. GAC speed controllers easily communicate with other manufacturers’ equipment, and digital technology allows for reproducible settings.

Getting Ready For Training
With our partners on the way from the African continent (shout-out to Trevor at Hagar Distribution in South Africa for organizing the visit), Steve G. makes a few finishing touches on our training setups.
More to come after the visit!
Growing in People and Equipment
GAC continued to grow this month, adding four new employees and two new interns—AND a new (to us) CNC machine.
This machine is dedicated to prototype needs allowing us to free up our other machines for partners and customer orders.
Where in The World
Arni and Jim had an incredible time immersing themselves in the latest innovations at the Modern Day Marine Show.
Our friends at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc.,
showcased a perfect integration of Governors America Corp products in their generator solutions.
More travels next month!
Use This to Replace That
GAC offers replacements to many other manufacturers’ products. Easy to install, easy to tune. Set it and forget it with GAC!

Hawkeye Innovation Gains VOSB Certification
GAC sister company Hawkeye Innovation has been certified by the Veteran Small Business Certification Program (VetCert) at the Small Business Administration. This confirms the company’s eligibility to compete for set-aside contracting opportunities, as well as other benefits, as a Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB). Congratulations to Sean Collins and the team at Hawkeye! You can read more about it on their website.
